This morning I had a little free time coming home from Rockford. The Northland detour took me up 12 Mile and north on Summit. This is such a small, peaceful area. There have been a few changes since last year, better groomed, landscaped different....not sure. Even on the hottest July day the water here is always ice cold. Why is that?

This morning I met up with Christina and Eric for their epics! After flying in from Massachusetts on Friday, they unknowingly had their bachelor/bachelorette parties on Saturday night, then early morning with me today...not certain how they did it! The wedding is this summer in Holland, so what better location. They are such a fun couple, open to do anything I suggested.
Adam DeKraker, Assistant Professor of Photography at Kendall College of Art and Design, came in to present the club with "Critical Theory - Basics from Beginner to Advanced Photography Classes."
This week is nothing but busy work. It was nice break on Tuesday helping out in Nyla's class. The sun was out and I think the teacher had an itch to get outside to enjoy this beautiful weather. I spent half of my time laying under the swings. It was great having these three and four year olds remind me that I was too close, that I was making a bad choice, and that I could get hurt...but then laughing because they all think I'm crazy.
Ethan is back! At the mature age of ONE he had some great tricks to show off this afternoon! This little man has been in my studio every three months since he was two weeks old. It's so wonderful watching these little ones grow up, but it's so sad at the same time.
Today was my official start to wedding season! That means that winter is OVER! Now for flowers to bloom!

This is the flower girl, Rachel, with her dad twirling at the reception. How sweet are these two!
This morning just after 6am Scott Design Center lit up the sky in Cedar Springs. Not knowing where my husband was off to, I've become very lax over the last few years, I rolled over and went back to sleep. Just after eight The Post called to see if I could head over. When I arrived they were taking care of hot spots. I missed the good stuff! UGH!
Above in the black hat in full gear is my husband. He had just come out of the building. Man in uniform.=)
Claire and I started her birthday Monday by running cows out of their own pasture...not intentionally, I just wanted to say HI! After going through the weeds (which I was told to watch for snakes), loosing a shoe in the muck (that was Claire), and over a fence (I got stuck and needed rescuing) we got some great shots. This was all pre-coffee.
This is definitely not Grand Rapids...but it was fun to get out with Claire, wander the streets, chat, and play a bit.
This is my first hand-picked flower of 2008. My kids love picking flowers, and I love receiving them...even the dandelions.
We met up with old friends today! All boys vs. Nyla. As you can see she's got control.
You KNOW I was tempted, but I needed to set a good example. If my kids (and husband) weren't around you know I would have. The picture below is, I think, a catfish. I thought we were feeding the ducks...I was wrong.lol
Saturday we celebrated Luke turning one. Luke is my best friend, Claire's, little man. Presents were the beginning of the party. We had two three year olds and a five year old not so patiently waiting to see what was under all of that colorful paper. Luke preferred the ribbon. (I think ribbon is more fun too!)
This is big brother Cole ready to jump in and help at moments notice.
The experience of eating that first piece of cake should be a disaster. Apparently Luke missed that memo. This is a "no bath required" child.
I'm afraid the next time I see this little man he will be running around the house in his big brothers shadow wearing nothing but his firetruck underwear and a superhero cape. :sniff sniff:
Morning started at McDonald's just south of Louisville. Did you know that once you head south McDonald's stops serving lattes? I was not prepared to start my day with cold coffee...maybe if someone had warned me I would have handled it better. Coffee on the rocks please!
